We would like to congratulate our two seniors from Western High School who received the Brandon C. Franzen Memorial Scholarship for 2025! This is a $500, non-renewable scholarship to help them in their journey with their secondary education.
Our scholars are chosen based on their application, which includes an essay focusing on
“Why Freedom Isn’t Free”, their financial need, and their commitment to this next step in their education, with preference given to those who are pursuing fields of study specific to Brandon’s interests.
Our first scholar this year is Mr. Wesley Satterfield. Wesley has signed a contract joining the United States Army and will be pursuing a career in Electro-Mechanical Engineering once he finishes his training.
Our second recipient for this year is Mr. Ethan Gedeon. Ethan is pursuing a career in Cybersecurity and plans to attend Shawnee State University this fall.
We were blessed to have had several other scholarship applications, but after much deliberation, these two young men were the most representative of Brandon and what he stood for. Congratulations to both of our seniors, Wesley and Ethan! We are so proud of both of you and wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors!

ABOUT
Here at the Brandon C. Franzen Memorial Foundation, Inc., we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in preventing suicides of veterans or active service members related to PTSD. Our goals are the product of the loss of SSG Brandon C. Franzen, who tragically did not win his battle with PTSD.
